Denver Artist Jennifer Ghormley is back for another fun-filled and creative workshop.

Participants will experience the creative process in full circle; first create a series of monoprints, then transform the scrap materials into unique books and journals.

Self Portrait Print Exchange

Play with your multiple artistic interests through the trace monotype print, a process that merges printmaking with drawing and photography. Participants will bring in an array of several self-portrait images to use as a matrix in the creation of unique and interesting prints. Everyone will trade prints with fellow students, forming an exchange portfolio of your own artist community that extends beyond the workshop experience.

Make-a-Recycled-Sketchbook

Using all of the scrap material generated during the monotype process, participants will learn the process to create one-of-a-kind books that have a variety of uses. We will turn ‘oops’ prints into the book cover, used newsprint becomes the interior pages, and then bind it all together by hand or on the sewing machine. Suitable for a wide variety of uses, and they make awesome gifts too!

Jennifer Ghormley received her MFA in printmaking in 2006 from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and her BFA with an emphasis in printmaking in 2002 from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Jennifer actively shows her work through national juried exhibitions, exchanges, and invitation exhibitions.
