Every year, The Art Center relies on the generous contributions from friends like you. These tax-deductible gifts help The Art Center fulfill its mission through a dynamic exhibition schedule, arts educational programming for children and adults, and special programming that benefits the community.
There are many ways to give:
The Art Center’s general fund.
(Download a printable donation form here – WCCA Donation form 2015 ).
A charitable gift to The Art Center’s general fund helps us enrich, enlighten and inspire our community. Contributions to this fund:
- Help us plan and develop an exciting exhibition schedule.
- Introduce the joys of making and appreciating art to thousands of children through our family and children’s programs.
- Provide more than 100 educational offerings for adults every year including classes, workshops and lectures.
- Gifts to this fund may be cash, stocks, bonds, other securities, retirement plan assets, life insurance policies, real estate or art.
Enterprise Zone. Contributions of $200 qualify for the Enterprise Zone (EZ) state income tax credit of 25 percent. Please alert us if you would like your contribution processed for EZ state tax credit. The purpose of the EZ program is to encourage community participation and public private partnerships to revitalize economically distressed areas. The Art Center has an important anchor role in the region to provide exhibitions, classes, camps, workshops, community meeting space, attract tourist dollars to the region with signature events, and serve the special-needs population through Artability.
In-kind donations. The Art Center is always looking for art supplies, art books, frames – in fact anything that has to do with art. We use the materials in our children’s programming and recycle the rest in our bookstore for the benefit of our teen and young adult scholarship program. We also publish a wish list in our newsletter of other things that would be useful for us. The Enterprise Zone tax credit allows for a 12.5 percent state tax credit for some in-kind contributions with approval from the executive director.
The Art Center Foundation Endowment. An endowment gift demonstrates a long-term commitment to support The Art Center. This type of gift is invested and maintained in perpetuity. Earnings from this type of gift, after it has been invested, provide crucial and on-going support to The Art Center. A gift to the endowment can reflect your specific interests and serve as a testament to your generosity.
One of the many funds in The Art Center Foundation is the Ruth G. Moss Children’s Scholarship Fund. This fund was established to honor one of the founders of The Art Center. Ruth Moss has been committed to The Art Center since 1953, but one of her biggest loves is providing arts education for children. A gift to this endowed fund will ensure for perpetuity The Art Center’s children’s arts educational programming. Most of the earnings from this endowment provide scholarships for children who would not be able to attend Summer Art Camp without financial help. (To donate to the Ruth G. Moss Children’s Scholarship Fund by check, please make check payable to The Art Center Foundation with “Moss Scholarship” in memo line).
Planned giving. Gift arrangements may provide you with significant tax advantages while creating a lasting legacy at The Art Center for you and your family. You can designate the gift to The Art Center Foundation Endowment, the Ruth G. Moss Endowed Scholarship Fund or set up your own fund within the foundation that reflects your specific interests.
