Storytelling is an important part of any art form. Whether comics, games, novels, or sculpture (to name a few), the masters in all of these fields are able to communicate effectively through their medium. In this class we will explore the basics of storytelling used in animation, film, comics, and illustration, and give you tools to help get your message across with your art. We will learn about storyboards, character design, environmental design, and more, going over the how-tos and why these aspects are so important when it comes to expressing ideas visually.
You don’t have to be a comics enthusiast to enjoy this class. If you draw or paint, you’ll learn a different approach to composition. If you appreciate the art and entertainment around you, this class can give you a deeper understanding of both.
