The Art Center is excited and honored to receive the national Stand for the Arts Award this year! Only 12 organizations received this award across the country and The Art Center is the only organization in Colorado ever to receive this award.

The Art Center and eleven other outstanding local arts, cultural, and educational organizations and programs across the country received the Stand for the Arts Award, given by a partnership between Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, and Charter Spectrum. The partnership is part of Ovation TV’s “national arts advocacy platform called Stand for the Arts, which will commit $120,000 to support arts education in these twelve Charter Spectrum markets.”

Stand for the Arts Awards are granted based on how well an organization empowers the community, builds strategic partnerships, drives engagement through volunteerism and delivers creative programming.

“I am very proud of this organization,” said Lee Borden, Executive Director of The Art Center. “We have an amazing staff, and it’s because of the staff, along with our Board of Trustees, volunteers, Art Center Guild, artists, instructors, and members, that The Art Center has been chosen for this honor. And it is indeed an honor. There are hundreds of community arts and cultural groups around the country, and this award is given to only twelve a year.”
