Artability – Hands-on Field Experiences

All Field Experiences address Colorado Model Content Standards

Engage your students’ creativity in the visual arts hands-on opportunity with Artability field experience.  The Art Center offers hands-on field experience opportunities for all ages and groups (preschool, grades K-12, home schools, seniors, Scouts, camps, etc.).  Students will explore and appreciate art and culture with a docent-led tour of our gallery exhibitions, accompanied by a 60 minute hands-on program. We have over 155 programs covering a variety of disciplines:  clay, culture, history, sculpture, mixed media, 2-D, printing, painting, crafts, drawing, fibers, art foundation, STEAM and collaboration work. Examples of some of the program titles are Pueblo Pots, New Guinean ‘plant paste’ sculpture, Dale Chilhuly-inspired plexi-glass bowls, I. Robot, color field sketching, bowled over by Picasso, how to create a painting, etc. We can customize a program for your classroom’s current curriculum. Programs will incorporate the visual arts state standards. All programs are available off-sight for an additional dollar per student. Also, Rachel Egelston is a Boy Scout counselor and can help Boy Scouts meet their requirements for receiving a badge.

Prices for most programs are $4 / student ($40 minimum)

We can set up a unique program to the center that will cater to your group’s specific needs.

The Artability program provides arts education opportunities for under-served students from local and regional schools and groups with a curriculum that addresses the Colorado model content standards for visual arts education.
