Pastel Society Biennial
May 15 – June 22
Opening Reception June 7, 6:30-9pm
Bev Lee, Juror

This show is open to all members of the Pastel Society of Colorado. The diversity of pastel as a medium offers a wide range of aesthetics. The members in this exhibition will demonstrate the expressive qualities of this medium in its full range.

Colorado Artist, Bev Lee, is the judge for the 2019 PSC Members Show. Lee is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, a Master Signature Member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, and a Master Circle Member of IAPS. Light and color are the inspirations for Lee’s paintings, often painting people and still lifes. Her distinctive style captures the emotion of her subjects in a painterly realistic way. While Lee studied at Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University), she is basically self taught. She also studied in workshops offered by Doug Dawson, Terry Ludwig, Xiang Zhang and Daniel Greene. Lee has been juried into numerous competitions and has received many awards including “Best of Show” and “People’s Choice.” Her paintings are in both private and corporate collections throughout the United States. Lee and her work have been featured and published in various national and international art publications and her book, Painting Children: secrets to capturing childhood moments, is available through North Light Books/Fw publications.
