🎨 About the Exhibition

A focused presentation of representational oil paintings by Bud Markos, featuring western landscapes, wildlife, ranch life, and figurative works that reflect his life-long engagement with the Great American West.

👤 Featured Artist: Bud Markos

Bud Markos is a self-taught artist whose representational oils focus principally on western subjects, including landscapes, wildlife, ranch animals, and figurative forms. This emphasis reflects a life-long interest in the region and can be summed up by the view, “There is no other place like The Great American West.”

Markos’ work has been included in numerous local, regional, and nationally juried shows, and is in collections nationwide.

Markos’ philosophy of art is, “First see, then do.” He generally declines to comment in detail on his work, believing each piece stands on its own, with final judgment reserved for the viewer. In that regard, he offers a simple two-step approach. “Does it speak to you? If so, what does it say?”
