About the Exhibition
In the visual arts, an abstraction constitutes a simplification of the composition, whether in its color or form. Mountains in the distance may be reduced to a blue cluster of triangular shapes, while rolling hills could be represented as overlapping green half circles. The process of abstraction reduces images to symbols within the arrangement. Some symbols are universally recognizable, while others may be more obscure or less obvious to the viewer.
This exhibition is open to all artists working in an abstract or non-objective style, whether your methods include a simplification of the objective world or compositions that are purely expressionistic.
