An Exhibition of Ceramic Art by The GJ Clay Arts Guild
October 6 – November 10
Opening reception October 6

No one does clay better than the GJ Clay Arts Guild (GJCAG). This exhibition of work by this dynamic group of ceramic artists features a broad array of ceramic vessels and sculptures. There is a wide range of disciplines and firing techniques within the field such as high-fired, raku, and saggar. The members of the GJ Clay Arts Guild curate their own exhibition in the Gould Gallery and present a variety of pedestal pieces displayed in clusters, wall hanging works, and installation pieces. All GJCAG artists have developed their individual techniques, surface design work, and firing styles. This is a perfect time to see pieces from a variety of artists side-by-side. GJCAG welcomes ceramic artists, both young and just starting their journey, to veteran potters. This exhibit is one of the many ways GJCAG fosters a growing awareness and appreciation for ceramic art in the valley.

The guild was established in 2001 by a group of local ceramic artists. This energetic group brings together some of the most talented ceramic artists from the Western Slope in both functional and sculptural ceramics. Their ongoing mission is community sharing and encouragement to advance the skill level and appreciation within the clay world. Interested in becoming a member of the Grand Junction Clay Arts Guild?
