TLC for TAC: Early Improvements
Campaign Update
Although we are just starting the TLC for TAC mini-campaign, thanks to early donations and help from the Art Center Guild, we are already seeing some improvements in our beloved building. A few are quite visible, others are strictly functional, and others are behind the scenes; however, they all contribute to The Art Center’s (TAC) value to the community.
The Climb’s New Home
The Art Center’s logo is based on the outdoor sculpture The Climb by Brian Bain. Thanks to a donation from Gail & Robert Brown, in-kind labor from Joe Milton (pouring the new pad), and assistance from Downtown Grand Junction, The Climb has been moved to a prominent location at the front of The Art Center.
Red Door HVAC
The Red Door Studio has become one of our most heavily used educational spaces, especially for youth and Artibility groups. Thanks to assistance from the Art Center Guild, a new heating and cooling system has been installed in Red Door, with some wonderful (and cool) results.
Improvements to the Restrooms
Thanks to Gail Brown and the Art Center Guild’s support, new fixtures and features have been installed in the restrooms.
Collection Room Storage Cabinets
Thanks to donors such as Bob Armstrong and Robbie & Chuck Breaux, the TLC for TAC campaign procured large metal storage cabinets and shelves, enabling TAC to better care for its permanent collection.
New Landscaping along 7th Street
Thanks to a donation from the Desert Valley Garden Club, guidance from Fran Phillips, crushed granite from Whitewater Building Material, and in-kind labor from Bill Richardson and Dragonfly, significant improvements have been made to the landscaping along 7th Street.
